*Download a print-ready PDF of the the following prayer here. Read and pray this prayer out loud for a few days. Let God create resting places and points of emphasis as you pray. You will be blessed and transformed as will your family and the world around you. (If you choose to break it up into smaller daily sections–which is fine–I encourage you, after praying that day’s section, to drop to the bottom and make a fresh declaration over that day.)
My Daily Prayer 2016V2
My dear Lord Jesus… Eternal Word of the Father.
I come to you today to refocus my heart and attention on you, to love you and receive your love. I come to worship you. I know that apart from you I can do nothing, so I ask you to abide in me, renew me, refill me with your love, and ground me today in your victorious life. I ask for all the grace and mercy I so desperately need this day. I confess you as Lord and honor you as my Sovereign King. I offer every aspect of my life totally and completely to you. I give you my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, will, and imagination. I declare my absolute dependence on you, your shed blood, your resurrection life, and your ascended authority. I accept the healing of your wounds, the cleansing of your blood, and the vitality of your life in and over my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, will, and imagination. I ask your Holy Spirit to restore me in you, renew me in you, and to lead me in this time of prayer. In all that I now pray, I include (Spouse and kids by name). Standing before you I intercede for my family. I bring (Spouse and kids by name) to you—their spirit, soul and body, their heart, mind, will, and imagination. I ask your Spirit to restore them in you, renew them in you, and apply to them all that I now pray on their behalf. (Here you can name those by name for whom you choose to pray.)
Dear God… Loving, holy, and victorious trinity.
My eternal family! You alone are worthy of all my worship, my heart’s devotion, all my praise, all my trust, and all the glory of my life. Thank you for including me in your holy delight. I love you. I worship you. I trust you. I thank you for Father’s love and security, Son’s sacrifice and life and joy, and Holy Spirit’s power and presence. God, I give myself over to you completely in my heart’s search for life. You are Life, and have become my life. I renounce all other gods and all other forms of God. I also renounce all idols and all fears. I give you the place in my heart and in my life that you truly deserve. I confess here and now that this is all about you, God, and not about me. You are the Hero of my story, and I belong to you. I rest in Jesus for forgiveness and cleansing of every sin. You search me and you know me, and I trust you. So, I ask you to reveal to me where you are working in my life today. Expose any agreements I have made with any lies or accusations of the enemy. Grant to me the grace of your healing, your deliverance, and a deep and true repentance of heart and mind.
Our Heavenly Father.
Thank you for loving me and choosing me before you made the world. Thank you for making me your beloved child. You are my true Father—my Creator, my Redeemer, my Sustainer. I love you. I trust you. I worship you. I give myself over to you to be one with you in all things, as Jesus is one with you. Thank you for proving your love by sending Jesus. I believe in the one you sent! I freshly receive him and all his life and all his work which you ordained for me. I seek no other source for the redemption of my life but Jesus himself. Thank you for including me in the New Covenant that Jesus purchased and chartered with you. Thank you for your love and privilege I receive in that Covenant. Thank you for including me in it in Christ, for forgiving me my sins, and for granting me Jesus’ own righteousness. Thank you for making me complete in him. Thank you for making me alive with Christ, raising me with him, and seating me with him at your right hand. Thank you for establishing me in his authority. Thank you for baptizing me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you for anointing me with your love and your favor. I receive all this with thanks and give it total claim to my life—my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, will, and imagination. I bring your love and the life and the work of Jesus over (Spouse and kids by name) and over my home, my household, my vehicles, finances, my workplace, your churches (Joyland and all who name your Name), and over all my influence and domain.
Jesus. Son of Man—Lamb of God.
Thank you for taking on humanity! Thank you for your willing sacrifice to ransom and reconcile me to God. Thank you for perfectly revealing Father’s love to me. I love you. I worship you. I trust you. I give myself to you to be one with you in all things. I receive healing and wholeness through your stripes, wounds and bruising. I receive forgiveness, deliverance from all guilt and torment, and covenant acceptance through your cross, death, blood, and sacrifice for me. Thank you that I am rescued and transferred to your kingdom, my sin nature is removed, my heart is circumcised unto God, and every claim and ordinance set against me is disarmed this day. I receive my place in you on the cross. There, I have died with you to sin and to the world. I choose to lose my life in you. As a brand new creation in you I throw off the old man and with him the weight and the sin that so easily hinders. I ask you to apply to me the fullness of your victory on the cross. I receive it with thanks and give it total claim to my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, will, and, imagination. I declare the power and deliverance of the cross over (Spouse, Kids, and Team).
Jesus… Risen Lord.
I have been crucified with you; nevertheless, I live. I am raised with you and live as a New Covenant son/daughter—fully redeemed and accepted by our Father. I believe God raised you from the dead. I receive you as my life, my holiness, and my strength. I receive all the life and victory of your resurrection, through which you have conquered sin, death, and judgment. Death has no mastery over you. I have been raised with you to a new life, to live your life—dead to sin and alive to God. I receive salvation by your life. I reign in life through your life. I receive and rest in your resurrected life—given by our Father and implanted by Holy Spirit—and with you I receive all that you are: your very faith, your humility, your capacity to love and forgive, your integrity in all things, your wisdom, your discernment and cunning, your strength, and your greater joy. I also receive your
union with our Father, and your ear to hear his voice, ability to know his heart and discern his hand, your fullness of and dependence on Holy Spirit, your obedience and courage, your authority in the scriptures, your ability to teach and make men’s hearts burn for you, your ability to lay hands on the sick and see them recover, your ability to defeat demons with a word, and your ability to extend the kingdom in power, authority, and truth. Apply to me the fullness of your resurrection. I receive it with thanks and give it total claim to my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, will, and imagination. I celebrate my new life and the new life you bring over (Spouse, Kids, and Team).
Jesus… King of kings.
You are victorious. I receive you today as my authority, rule, and dominion. You alone are my everlasting victory against the adversary and accuser and his kingdom. I declare that you are my full present and future hope! I receive all this through the victory of your ascension and soon coming. There you have judged satan and cast him down, and you have disarmed and de-authorized his kingdom. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to you, Jesus, and you are worthy to receive all glory and honor, power and dominion, both now and forevermore. By grace I take my place in you, in your ascension, and in your throne, through which I have been raised with you to the right hand of the Father and established in your authority. I anticipate your coming with joy. I thank you that you are with me here now and at the same time you are preparing a place for me to be with you in heaven. I will fix my eyes on you and bring my family, my friends, my home, my household, my vehicles, my finances, my workplace, your church, and all within my influence under your authority, rule, and dominion.
Holy Spirit… Promise of our Father.
Thank you for coming into and resting on my life. You abide with me today and forever! I love you. I worship you. I trust you. I sincerely receive you and all that you brought at Pentecost. You are my experience of the Father’s promise of life and power. You have come and raised up life in me. You have clothed me with power from on high. You have gifted me. You have sealed me in Christ. You have become my union with the Father and the Son. You are my deposit and guarantee of a heavenly inheritance. You have become the Spirit of truth in me, the life of God in me, my Counselor, Comforter, Strength, Guide, and Friend. You have opened my eyes to my need for Jesus through conviction of sin and righteousness and judgment that is loving and rooted in my covenant relationship. I thank you, Holy Spirit, for being my voice of praise and exaltation, the source of my heart’s longing to worship, and my confidence and perseverance in prayer. I honor you as my Sovereign and my God, and I yield every dimension of my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, will, and imagination to you and you alone. Helper, help me to have and manifest faith, to be filled with you, and to walk in step with you in all things. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to fill me afresh today. Manifest your gifts through me that I might serve your body effectively. Speak to and through me. Restore and breathe life into my union with the Father and the Son fresh and new today. Lead me in all truth, anoint me for all of my life and walk and calling, and lead me deeper into Jesus today. Bear the fruit of your character in me today—your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Holy Spirit, I receive you with thanks, and I give you total claim to my life. I also invite you to freshly fill and empower (Spouse, Kids, and Team).
God of the Angel Armies—Almighty Lord of Hosts.
Thus far I have prayed to you as my loving family. Now, without abandoning that security, I acknowledge you as my Captain and commander. I worship your majesty. I stand in awe of your splendor and might. I honor your call to spiritual warfare and victory through rest and worship. As I prepare to serve you this day, I confess my need of the covering you have provided in Jesus. I receive and stand in the full armor of God: From Holy Spirit, I receive the belt of truth. Crafted from your blood, Jesus, I receive the breastplate of righteousness to cleanse and guard my heart. Sent as you are sent, Jesus, under the authority of the Father, I prepare my feet with the readiness of the gospel of peace. I take up, by the gift of God’s measure, the shield of faith for today. I put on the helmet of salvation in the grace of God. Inspired by the very breath of God, I take hold of the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. I choose to pray at all times in the Spirit today. Thus armed, protected, and alert; I will stand against the schemes of the enemy in the authority of the Lord Jesus. I prophesy this: Having done all, I will stand. In faith I choose to wield these weapons today and will see the power of God manifest. I acknowledge that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. So, in humility and in might I ask, oh God, to fearlessly be and do and bring your will today on this earth as it is in heaven.
Jesus… My victory in your authority and peace.
In your name Lord Jesus, I quiet my heart and mind and enter into rest in all of your work: your healing, forgiveness, and covenant partnership through the cross; your gift of newness and life through your resurrection; and your authority and dominion received in your ascension and soon coming. I sum all this up in your name, and I experience it as I abide in you. Today, without pretense, posturing, or fear I confront spiritual enemies, adversaries, and accusers set against me and I say, “The Lord rebuke you.” I rest in you Jesus and resist the devil. I do so personally and also on behalf of my family, my church, and all those that I have named today in prayer. I reject any accusations, deceptions, or lies meant to tempt thoughts or imaginations that would exalt themselves against my simple knowledge of and trust in God and his love for me. Should such thoughts or imaginations arise, I cast them down and bring them under Jesus’ own obedience. I receive authority in you Lord Jesus and renounce and reject any sickness, disease, infirmity, accidents, afflictions, thefts, or destructions that any spiritual or natural thing or person seek to bring on me, on my family, or against our church. I reject any authority claimed by any enemy to use the broken or cursed things of this world to steal from, to kill, or to destroy me, my family, my church, or those that I have named. I also bring the full finished work of Jesus Christ against every curse to break its influence, and against every foul power, all witchcraft, and any black arts released against me, my family, and our church. Also, Jesus, I bring under your authority and love, any persons who willingly or unwittingly lend their voice and authority to the kingdom of darkness. I ask for grace for anyone so used that they may repent and find their own freedom, but whether they repent or not, I bind their warfare away from me and from my family, our church, and from those I have named in prayer today. Instead of curses I receive and speak life in your name, Jesus. Father, I humbly summon warring angels to my aid, the aid of my family, and our church. If any devil or demon should violate these boundaries, I ask that those angels be released to rebuke those rebellious spirits and to enforce your authority, Lord Jesus, and my authority in You.
God… My shield and my exceeding great reward.
I believe that you are, and that you reward me as I seek you.
So, I come anew today to seek and receive the kingdom that you freely delight to give me. I ask you to grant me wisdom today. I thank you for and receive every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places that you have given me in Christ Jesus. I claim the riches in Christ Jesus in my life today—and over my family, friends, community, home, finances, and into all of my kingdom and domain. I confess that no challenge or need can come into my life for which your unwavering love, your grace, and superabundant supply is not sufficient. I acknowledge today that I can—in fact—do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I thank you that I do not need to do them alone. Father, I openly renounce any orphan spirit, thinking, or worldview. I thank you for your church—all of it—and I ask you to strengthen my connections with my brothers and sisters both within Joyland and outside her walls today. I ask you to send your Spirit to call forth prayer and intercession for me this day. I thank you for those prayers and gladly receive the release of grace and angelic ministry they bring. In return, I loose blessing on the people who pray them.
Here is my declaration today.
I call forth the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ today over my home, my family, my workplace, your church, and all my assignments today. Father, in everything today I honor you as holy. Jesus, over everything—including me—I call you my Risen Lord. Holy Spirit, into everything today I welcome you and give you absolute freedom. Have your way in me today, and help me in all I do, say, and think to bring glory to our Father.
My Daily Prayer (2016 V2)
(NOTE: Those of us at Joyland offer John Eldredge and the brothers and sisters at Ransomed Heart Ministries thanks for the original version of the Daily Prayer. It transformed my personal prayer life years ago. It has continued to grow as I have grown. This expanded prayer is the continuing fruit of those teachings, that prayer, and the intimate seasons with Holy Spirit that followed. Thank you, John. Keep up the great work! *** Pastor Larry)
